We design and produce
unique fabrics and soft furnishings, which are befitting for “deluxe interiors”.
In addition, we procure rare and antique fabrics, restore and
redesign them
as soft furnishings.
In 1943, upon his graduation, my grandfather began his business
in Madras, under the name of Abdul Rahman and Company.

His
focus was to provide rare and unique goods. These
included exclusive fabrics & leather products
procured from remote and almost inaccessible villages
located in the jungles, mountains and deserts of
India.
His frequent business visits to Europe began after
World War II. He successfully established and maintained
life long business relationships in the UK, Belgium,
Netherlands, Italy and Switzerland. These valued
relationships; he affectionately named “my
clients for life”.
By early 70's, the Lahore operation added contemporary
fashion wear, for European women, to the export production
range. Not only did he become the leading exporter
of fashion-garments, but also the co-founder and
chairman (Northern Zone) of PRGMEA (Pakistan Ready
Made Garments Manufacturers & Exporters Association).

My father, Asad Rahman joined
the family business in mid 70’s, did extensive
traveling and expanded the
markets to the Northern tip of Europe, Japan, Australia and USA. He held the
same position of chairman (Northern Zone) PRGMEA
from 1985 to 1992, as Chief Executive Officer and
Creative Director, In 2004; he designed, produced
and launched a brand by the name of “MASSON
Art Fabrics”.
His innovative “surface embellishment techniques” redefined
how various fabrics i.e. leathers, silks, velvets
etc, are used in the 21st century, reflecting unique

I have recently completed my Masters in Economics from
London, England and have joined the family business. Having
joined the family business, I am able to impart my academic
knowledge to the business with the benefit of “a
hands on practical” in the science and art of business
from a reputable company.

We
use our very special skills for “surface embellishments” of
fabrics. e.g. appliqué works, cut
works, 3-D embroideries, hand-stained leathers,
etc, etc. Our Art Fabrics are composed
of three groups: leathers, silks and velvets:
all using various surface embellishment
techniques
and disciplines.
Our work is a departure from mass production
as our focus is on uniqueness, class and
deluxe workmanship. This enables us to
produce: “Fabrics beyond
comparison”. |
